Finding tabs in chrome can be cumbersome, slow, and frustrating. If you want to find a tab you previously visited or just want to get faster at it, read our tips below.
Do you ever have a moment where you all of the sudden want to access a tab that you had previously visited?
Usually, people don’t even close tabs because they’re scared the won’t be able to find them later. Well, there’s a solution for that too.
First, we’ll show you the boring way to find previously visited tabs in chrome. Read on for a productivity tip!
If you right-click or click-and-hold on the back button in your browser tab it will show the immediate history of that tab.
To search all your history in chrome, click the three vertical dots in the top right of the browser, then click history. Alternatively you can press CMD + Y on Mac or CTRL + H on Windows to open your history page.
You can quickly restore your last closed tabs or windows in chrome by pressing CMD + SHIFT + T on Mac or CTRL + SHIFT + T on Windows.

Now, what you’ve really been looking for: a better way to find tabs in chrome.
If you’re keeping 20+ tabs open because you’re afraid of losing them or you want to read/reference/access later, stop. There’s a better way.
Enter Partizion, the only bookmark/tab manager you’ll ever need.
Let me explain how Partizion is different, and how it will be the last tab manager you’ll ever have to try.
I know, you’ve probably already tried a bunch of bookmark/session/tab managers and some of them were pretty good. You may have even used them for awhile, but eventually, you found yourself either not using it anymore or with another problem on hand. (Eg. you just have a growing collection of tabs that you never look at).
Partizion was designed from the ground up to help you organize your work in the browser. That’s fancy talk for: you can save tabs for when you need them later, you can find tabs easily (Currently open tabs, tabs you’ve previously visited, or saved tabs), and you can declutter your browser.
It’s very simple in principle but it works wonders for your productivity and mental clarity.
Imagine if, instead of always having 20–30 or more tabs open, you had 5–10 tabs open at a time, they were all related, and only what you needed at that moment for the task at hand.
That means finding and referencing tabs to use right now is easier and faster. There aren’t any distractions or looming tabs keeping your mind off of what you’re trying to work on.
If you’re working on task A, and come across a tab that might be useful for something else (Say task B, a reading list, an interesting website/blog, etc.) then you can simply save it to where it needs to go, and access it later when you need to. Focused, fast, and productive.
Having all related tabs saved into a collection means that restoring your work and picking up where you left off is one click away.
Using our example from above again, if you’re working on task A and need to work on something else, switching to that task is as simple as hitting a button. Partizion closes the tabs you currently have open and automatically opens all the tabs in the next task/project. Again, with just one click.
Finding tabs is a nightmare (as illustrated above). Partizion makes it super easy to find a tab. Simply open the powerful search (With a keyboard shortcut or through the browser extension) and start typing. You can search your currently open tabs or tabs that you’ve previously visited. This reduces the time to find a tab you need drastically.
If you want to work faster in the browser and more easily find previously visited (and currently open) tabs then try Partizion. You browser will thank you.
